The Wise Group and The Purpose Coalition has held a skills roundtable in Westminster, co-chaired by Wise Group CEO Sean Duffy and Crossbench Peer Lord Walney on the future of skills, as part of the Breaking Down Barriers to Employment Opportunity Commission.

The Purpose Coalition’s new Breaking Down Barriers Commission has officially launched in Parliament - an important initiative to tackle inequality with a renewed partnership between government and industry.
Goal 15 - Working in Partnership - will promote the need for organisations to work in partnership to boost equality of opportunity. By fostering strategic alliances with unions and citizens assemblies, organisations can harness diverse talent and perspectives, and ensure their initiatives are grounded in the needs of real-world communities.
Pertemps is the UK’s largest recruitment agency, with over 200 offices across the UK. It directly employs 1,550 members of staff, manages up to 40,000 temporary workers for clients at any one time and places around 12,000 candidates in permanent roles each year.
The collaboration marks a significant commitment from NGN to leverage its industry leadership and resources in breaking down systemic barriers, ensuring equal opportunities for all.
Upcoming events
The Purpose Coalition is now exploring how the model of citizens assemblies can be expanded to developed to cover more aspects of public policy making to ensure decisions are made that are both long-lasting and have had the necessary stakeholder consultation to make them work. In order to be truly successful, these should include businesses, universities, and our public health services, in partnership with local and national government.
