Read: BP planning the UK's largest 'blue' hydrogen project for Teesside

bp has announced plans to create the UK's largest 'blue' hydrogen plant on Teesside.

The global oil and gas 'supermajor' says the area is "uniquely placed" for the H2Teesside plant - which would "support jobs and regeneration" and help "lead the low-carbon transformation".

bp wants to begin production on the facility - H2Teesside - by 2027, reaching a fifth of the UK's entire hydrogen production by 2030.

If it goes ahead, it would support thousands of new and existing jobs on Teesside with the development of a 'clean' hydrogen industrial cluster on Teesside.
